Mounting plate

Hey, fellow Strommers! So, I'm setting up my glee for a permanently mounted heated clothing temperature controller. Basically instead of drilling holes in awkward-to-get-to locations, I want to run the wires up to the center of the handlebars and mount the controller knobs to a flat plastic (or metal) plate that is secured to my handlebars... I've sifted through the threads here with no luck as well as google image searching just a plain black mounting plate 2 to 3 inches wide by about 1.5 inches tall with nothing found. Any ideas out there?

I got a piece of 1/16" thick and 1-1/2" wide aluminum angle stock and a can of matte black paint from the local big box hardware store. A little work with a jigsaw and a drill makes a piece held down by the mirror mount with the cruise control module on the front and heat controller on top.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

Wow. What a set-up.

Ill do some looking around the left mirror mount for ideas on how to utilize it.
