TomTom ONE

I just got the above unit and have some questions.
Where do you recommend to run the power from (please be very specific, I am a total foreigner to electrical/mechanical etc.)
Any recommended mounts?
Earpluggs for the spoken instructions but still isolating wind noise?
Any addl. advice for this unit will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I had just installed Garmin couple days ago on my DL1K. Installed 12V power outlet(wally world $7.97), fuse holder(ww $1.23), 10foot extention cord(ww $5.87), assorted fuses (ww $1.96) + connectors, etc(7.93). I had connected, all underneith the seat, straight to the battery for the constant power, even when the bike is off. 15A fuse on the positive side on the battery. I had an option with going with Powerlet scheme, however they said to drill the hole, didnt like that. Now i run the 10ft flex cord to the GPS power, and hide the cords in the tankbag and it works like a champ. As far as mount, try www.expressmounts.com out of LasVegas, very good prices and i got mine in about 3days(http://www.expressmounts.com/gps-mount/tomtom/one). Hope it helps.

Thanks Greg, I will try them this week.
I see they have two mounts for the handlebar, two different girths. Do you recall wich one fits the Strom?
That attachment to the base of the mirrors looks pretty interesting too.

The base for the bracket is the same for all bikes(or most bikes), only difference is in the cradle itself. Try this: http://www.expressmounts.com/pdfs/ra...le-catalog.pdf and go to page28. Hope it helps.

Yes, my only thing now is deciding if a 3" neck or the shorter 1'5". Keep in mind my windshield is the "Monkey Grass'cut off-type" and there is not too much wind protection, I want to keep things within the cockpit area.
Thanks again for the help.

Ostion - you have an 02 like me, with the same shorty screen. I'm going to post a picture of my RAM mount and how it's snugged up between the shield and the guages... It does require drilling a couple holes, but I absolutely LOVE the way this thing mounts up now.

Stay tuned for some pics!

I'd love to see the picturest. I was discussing that same location with Mighty Shep this weekend. I already order the mount, 3" neck, I hope it's all compatible with your design.
