Finished product.

It turned out pretty well, easy to see, but doesnt block the gauges. The XM antenna is also in a good spot for reception. I need to dig up some elastomer dampers at work to mount it to the windscreen bracket with, and put a support in from the mount to the top of the dash.

Curious. Why did you pick this one over the Zumo 550?

Basically.... price.... and the Zumo seems less robust.

Very nice bracket! On my Alaska trip with the GPS 2720 mounted in the same place you have it, the rough roads vibrated the unit nearly to death. The bracket I made was very sturdy, but the whole windshield assembly wasn't. Couples with the moment arm of the GPS hanging out in space, it was just too much on rough roads. I had to use some bailing wire I found and tie the whole assembly down to the frame.

On my 07 Wee, I mounted the GPS to the handle bars and it is rock solid.....
