  1. Darkside snow tire commute test

    Suspension and Tire Tech
For those who followed and helped (@oydnar) with my autumn adventure of getting a '2012 dl650a outfitted for winter commuting, today turned out to be the real test. I've been riding in, about 5 miles each way, all winter. But we haven't had much snow in Connecticut and what has come hasn't...
  2. Does this sound like a bad fuel pump or... idk?

    V-Strom Service & Maintenance Questions/Discussion
Ok here’s the deal. I’ve searched around and haven’t found anyone with this exact issue (though there are a few that are somewhat similar) Rode my '06 wee about 6 months ago, ran fine. 3. Teach Me About Heated Gear

    Maintenance, Tech and Products.
First of all, I apologize if this thread is in the wrong section--I didn't see a gear section although I may have missed it because I am so damn cold...which leads me to... I just got back from a 70 mile ride from Los Angeles to Palmdale, CA. I took Bouquet Canyon road (a steep twisty canyon...

  5. Winter storing wee in minus degrees

    Maintenance, Tech and Products.
Hi Anyone know if there are something to consider before winter storage of wee under cold conditions. Here in Norway we often hit like minus 30 degrees. Last winter I did some small battery charge sessions now and then just to make sure the battery didnt go flat. Last winter i also stored...
  6. Every day, all winter

    General V-Strom Discussion
Well, the Weestrom, with some modification, made a great all-winter, daily driver. TKC-80 tires, 140ish 4707 self-tapping studs, hippo hands, a pinlock face shield, and some minor clothing upgrades to keep me warm. Maybe 3k miles on the tires, and no sign of wear. The studs hurt your traction...
