needing street tires , or at least 90 percent street.

I would like to put street tires on my 2004 DL 1000 vee. can anybody tell me what type of street tires they have RECENTLY run with success ? I know there are a lot of tire threads out there, I have read many if not most of them ...
most are old or outdated. ..has anybody recently run street tires on their v , with great success ?

Michelin PR3's are at the top of this poll and they are definitely street tires:

2013 Tiger Explorer 1200
2009 DL650 ABS
2004 Honda ST1300

I too have migrated to a street tire. It happened gradually over a period of 8 rears for my 2003 V. It finally dawned on me that I do very few gravel roads and when I am on them I just take it a little easier. And because of that, I get a little better street traction as well as an extra 2,000 miles out of each rear.

Supposedly the Metzler ME880 is the longest wearing street tire out that still handles relatively well. But I couldn't justify spending an additional $50 over what I paid for the Pilot Road and Angel ST at the time.

Oct. 2010 Mich. Pilot Road 2 = 11,100 miles
Mar 2012 Pirelli Angel ST = Has 6K miles and still looks new. Should get at least 10K out of it.

Suzuki DL1000, Yamaha WR450, Honda CR500, Honda XR80, Honda QA50

The Bridgestone BT-023 (hope I remembered that right) is also getting good reviews. The Michelin Pilot Road 3 might be the better rain tire (and I like my PR3's a lot, wet and dry). The PR3's are OK on firm unpaved roads, not the tire for deep loose stuff.

I have the PR3 up front and a Metzeler Z8 in the rear. The combo handles the same if not better than a matched set of PR3 tires, which I had until I got an unrepairable tire puncture. I only ride street.

You'll find that the MOTORRAD magazine test shows the Z8 with better performance in the wet and dry than the PR3. I have not yet ridden in the rain since the Z8 rear tire was installed (~2,000 miles).

I will most likely stay with the Z8 and hope that Metzeler comes out with a front Z8 by the time I need a new front tire.

The Z8 also seems to wear better at the same mileage as the previous PR3. The Z8 is a tad wider in the contact patch area due to the extra "lip" on both edges - I noticed it when I couldn't see the rear pads from straight behind the tire.

Continental Street Attack tires work for me. Sportbike profile and tread, sticky compound, decent mileage.

Go hakafugu yourself.

Stay away from the stock tires - I only got 7,500 on my last rear. Then again, I take off fast from every stop so it figures that the dead center was bare and the sidewalls were still good. I just put on an Anakee 2 on the rear after reading the poll linked to on this thread. That was helpful! Safe riding.

Conti Attack tires rock. Nice on the wet. Acceptable on dirt road, not even close to off road. Changed to these from Metzler Tourance because I did not like the low mileage and they seemed a bit hard off the bump. I do like my rubber to wear as long as I can. The Conti's had a good reputation on wet pavement which I like. 3,000m on the rear, 1,000m on the front. Little wear even shows. So far so good.

I think B-stone Battle wings are rated at 90% street.

If they aren't, they should be!

well, after alot of reading...i decided to put a new anakee 2 on the front to match the back. I know Michelins are a great tire...we will see how this set works. if I don't like the setup, i will put something a bit more street on after these wear out. I almost went with the battle wing for cost sake...maybe get those next time.
