Emulator and springs installation

I received my rebuilt/upgraded shock from Daugherty, which I have installed. Now it's time to install the emulators and new springs I ordered as well. I have the instructions and a link from Dmr. I've also found one pretty good YouTube video.
I'm looking for any other videos and/or installation reports that anyone can recommend. Just looking to maximize my confidence as I take on the job.

I'm interested to see some replies also 2012 DL650A here and I have the Ricoh ones on hand and trying to figure out how to do the work with the forks on the bike. Cant we just tip her over and drain em out...I guess its a good time to pull them and set those torques personally since the last guy had raised and lowered the forks and I've ASSumed he set them right.
First priority here is keeping the bike upright with the rear loaded down and the centerstand tied off. Have fun maybe take some pics.

Hope you loosened the caps before you took them out. And back out the pre-loads as far as they will go to make it easier to put the caps back on later.

Im waiting for an email response from Jamie at Dmr but Ill ask the question here as well... the combined length of the stock spring and spacer is approx 21.5 inches (18 spring and 3.5 spacer). The new springs are 12 and he provided 12 of pvc pipe to cut into 2 spacers. This means a max length of 18 for the new spring/spacer combo. That length isnt long enough to even keep the fork fully extended, let alone allow for some preload. I dont think he provided enough space material. Any comments? Thanks.

Figured it out. I was short a few inches of pvc. Bought a piece at the hardware store and it all makes sense now.

Looks like some progress so far so nice work to you!

I pulled my forks on the 2012 650A today to put in the Ricohs and swap the fork oil with their Amsoil 5W that they sell/recommend.
Issue I had was that wacky fender bolt that has a square nut inside the wheel well area just spins and so I ended up pulling the forks as a set.
No surprises while following the service manual and the tips I found on here. Torques set to manual specs and feels pretty nice in the garage.
The sag was about 40mm with no preload (was second ring before) and using the stock spacer and spring. I ran 0.5" short per leg on fork oil as I used just a little to flush the old stuff and it seems Ricoh knows exactly what you need in the bottle they sell and recommend.

Did you make the total spring/spacer length the same as stock??
