I'm on my second Shinko 705 rear, and I like them. The only drawback I've seen for them at all is that they don't seem particularly long-lived when you ride loaded two-up. I got about 2700 miles out of my last one on a trip from NC to Maine and back. It was still serviceable at that point, but I had a second trip planned from NC to PA/OH that same month, and I didn't think it had that much life left in it. It might have made another 1500 miles, but I think I'd have been getting back to NC on a bald tire.
As for the Shinko 705 front, it seems unkillable so far. It has about 4200 miles on it now, and it has barely worn.
Mcdstrom, I got my last two Shinko rears from Rocky Mountain ATV; I think they were $84.00, with free shipping. I can't recall what I paid for the front. I'm with you; they suit my riding style, they work great for me, and they're cheap. That's a trifecta for me.
