Taller ride links

I bought a 2012 DL650 that's had shorter rear suspension links installed to lower the bike's height. I'd like to replace the original ones (which I have) What's involved in doing so. Do I need a center stand (which the bike does not have) in order to do this?

Others on here have found ways to prop up their bike when they didn't have a center stand.

Hanging it from garage rafters etc..

It's not difficult at all to do, but you do need to have the bike stable and the rear tire off the ground.
