Wee pre-load adjuster turns, doesn't adjust

The knob is quite stiff but I can turn it and feel the detents. No matter which which way or how much I turn it, the adjuster lines show 4.

Any idea what this is?

It takes almost 30 clicks lock to lock. How far are you turning it. Adding some lube to the mechanism under the knob will loosen it up. It can get very stiff if not used regularly.

The rear preload adjuster is a simple hydraulic jack subject to leaking. It can be repaired.

I did this repair a couple of years ago and it's now leaking again. I'm looking for a shock replacement now.
