Visual difference between 1000 and 650 rear shock

So I bought a cheap 1000 rear shock to throw on my 650. Is there any way to confirm it is actually off a 1000? Can't find a number on it and they both look identical. I would like to confirm I havent been screwed before I take the old shock out.

Thanks

I have read on this forum that the 1000 shock is slightly longer., with a heavier spring. No personal experience, though.

I would love to know also.

I plan on replacing my spring on my 650 and would like to find a cheap stocker off a 1000 to try...
