Quick-n-Dirty TEMPORARY spring change: is it OK?
Hi All---I just got some Sonic Springs for my Wee and am dying to try them out (partly because the wife and I are doing a long 2-up ride this weekend). I don't have time for a full, proper fork removal/cleaning/spring change/reinstallation...
...so I'm wondering, is there any reason why a quick-n-dirty spring change (hold the front end up, remove the fork caps, carefully pull out the old springs letting as much oil drain off them as possible back into the tubes, put the Sonic Springs in, put the new spacers in, put the caps back on) would be a terribly bad or dangerous thing to do?
I figure I could do this in 30-40mins tonight (we leave tomorrow morning)...and that would at least let us *try* the Sonic Springs for our ride. Then I could (and would) do a proper fork removal change next week.
Thanks for the advice!
