Touratech shock for the V-Strom

Saw this when I was browsing around touratech's website today.

Touratech Explore HP Rear Shock, Suzuki V-Strom DL650 - Touratech-USA

They seem to have versions for all Stroms. Price is less than Elka but more than the progressive shocks (all with remote). I wonder how they compare performance wise. Touratech seems to have done a lot of R&D for adventure specific riding so I imagine they will be pretty good. Much better than the stock shock, that's for sure.

I have nothing to say on the technical side of the subject, but the prices are out of reality. $800 for a shock with no compress dampening adjustment? $1100 for the remote preload w/o compression dampening and w/o external reservoir?

I have to agree. I can get a set of long travel remote reservoir racing shocks for my truck for that price. Why are motorcycle shocks so expensive?
