First post...NOT first Strom

Howdy all!

Just picked up a 2017 DL650XT with <400 miles on the clock (?!?!). While I'm new to StromTrooper, this is actually my second DL. First bike was an '07.

Some long, convoluted stories happened...because...life...which brings us to this week when I get to actually pick it up and bring it home Friday!

Along with the stupid low miles, this bike is already completely kitted out. SW Motech cases, crash bars, skid plate, Madstad screen, heated grips, etc...etc...etc...the dude before me set it up way beyond what I would have done and it's gorgeous!

Looking forward to getting to know my fellow Strom'ers and hopefully pick up some good tips and tricks for things like breaking in the engine, since it's basically brand new still.

- Jesse

Oh, I'll get better pics once it's, you know, out of the shop. But for now:

No need for any crazy break in procedures. Just ride it like you normally would for the exception of redlining it. You can follow the manufacturer's recommended break in procedures if you like but if you just ride it like a normal person that's all it needs.

Hola, Barefoot.
So do you have any ATTGAT or just not wear shoes when riding?
The bike looks good all shiny new.

Thanks all!

I'm definitely ATGATT.

The Barefoot Rambling moniker goes back to when I spent like a decade mostly barefoot. And I'm a writer who's standing here barefoot at my desk. So it works on multiple levels ;-)

And yeah, the bike is insanely clean. It's basically new. Only signs of wear are the scratches on the engine bars and a broken LED on the right handguard where the previous owner dropped it in his driveway.

+1. Best looking V Strom ever. Even better looking than 1000 (IMHO).
