Hello and Thanks from Kansas

I have been getting info from this site for several years now and thought it would be good to say Hello and thanks for community support.

I went from Kawi sportbikes to Beemers, then after quite a few final drive repairs switched to a 2014 Vee (Do you call that a Vee2?) The first year I really missed the Beemers having had both the R and K bikes. But reading this forum made me hold on to the V-strom and now I really like the bike. The more you ride it the better it gets.

Getting close to my first valve adjust so might have a few questions. Thanks again.

Welcome!

I call it a V2.

Consider adding a BoostrPlug: https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl1000a...dl-1000-a.html
https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl1000a...ster-plug.html

Plus I run a 16T front sprocket. Here in the east you can't hardly use 6th gear, at least it felt that way before I installed the BoosterPlug. It really makes it a much nicer bike.
Then also read up on clutch shudder. Unfortunately the V2 has the same clutch basket as the VEE had and some of them do cause a fair amount of vibrations (I think between 4k and 5k, if I remember right).

With those 2 upgrades it's a much nicer bike!

Congratulations for making the switch to the "Thinking Man's Motorcycle".

I always find it peculiar of many Beemer guys show up on loaner bikes and don't seem to mind at all.

I agree with @blaustrom and others that your V2 will really purr with a BoosterPlug.

Not Bemmer free yet

Thanks fellow strommer's. I do have a confession. still have my 99 R1100s. Put 94,000 on that bike and a lot of memories. Working part time now, so maybe will have the time to install rebuilt transmission this winter. The Strom v2 is my primary bike now.

Thanks Stalky Tracker.
My hardrive crashed, so lost most of my pics. That one is the northern Washingtion pass thru the Cascades, on the way from Idaho to the Pacific coast. That's my better half smiling at me, happy to get off the pillion seat. I am guessing you are in Wisconsin? What part?
