Welcome from the West Coast Rock of Canada.
Finished a trip from Victoria BC to Dawson City and back in late June early July. 7400 Kms and 19 days on my 1500 GW with partner. Roads were good and weather wet and dry. On the Canadian side of the trip, if you need parts and once you go north of Prince George BC or Hinton Alberta, Whitehorse and Grand Prairie are the maintenance hubs, nothing else around. If you have maintenance/work that you think you might out off, don't, do it up front. Lots of gas stops if you can do 250 Kms or better. When it has signs posted that mention no services for say 250 Kms, it's true, there are non.
On the VStrom, change the chain and sprockets before you go, new tires or call ahead to Whitehorse. Oil may be an issue if you use a specific type. I didn't change mine for the trip.
Cell phone coverage can be sporadic. A sat tracker like a SPOT or the Garmin inReach series are good to have. I have the Delorme inReach Explorer and had to use the email function a couple of times to let everyone know we were good. Each unit has preset messages you can configure and send.
Gas was in the low $1.00 CDN to $1.90 CDN depending on location - supply and demand.
Otherwise have a great trip.
