Hello I have a 2016 Suzuki DL650A/XA . And I am looking for ways to modify the gearing/rear tire hight so as the bike will be more suited for highway and top speed riding. And I figured some of you have already accomplished this and would like to here how it worked for you.

Welcome to the Forum. If you are looking for consistent high speed riding, I think that you mat have chosen the wrong bike. There are a few methods of making the bike more suited for highway riding, starting with sprocket change (https://www.gearingcommander.com) can give a good idea what type of sped vs rpm to expect under ideal conditions. Another is to change the front wheel to a 17" rim, this will help reduce the wind a bit plus give you a greater selection in road tires, https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl650-d...onversion.html

Several of us run a 16 tooth countershaft sprocket. That makes the speedometer quite accurate and reduces highway rpm at speed in 6th gear about 350-400 rpms. But it won't increase top speed. Or increase fuel mileage. I tried a 17t sprocket and the bike just does not have the torque to use that very well.
