Returning to the Fold

Morning all,

After several years away it looks like I will be returning to the Vstrom world.
Had a DL1000GT waaaaaaaaaay back in 2008 which had a hard life before it was part ex'd towards a XT1200Z. This was mainly as 5 odd years of being used as daily transport and living outside in the UK was not particularly kind towards it. The XT was different, not as comfortable for long trips as the Strom (did a couple of SS1000's on it) but more fun on dirt tracks and mud etc with all the electronic gizmos that came with it. Suffered a lower back injury at work and the XT was just too painful to ride so that got part Ex'd and I have spent the last three years on a Burgman 650 while I recovered from the injury and made a lot of changes to my life. Now I have moved house so I have a garage for the bike to live in plus a car so I can finally own a bike that is ridden for fun and not because it was the only option. The Vstrom still ticks all the boxes it did way back in 2008 plus the yellow and black paint job!

Currently trying to work out which option to go for from the 4 that are on offer! Currently the Burg is away being repaired after a rear end shunt, but once that is back in 4 weeks time I will be hitting the local dealers for 'how much is this worth against that' conversation.

Welcome Jay. We have a lot in common. I had a new 2008 DL650 and loved it. Back problems forced me to sell it. Fast forward 11 years and 3 different bikes I have come back to a vstrom 1000 as it is what seems to fit me best. I have learned to take more breaks and let my back rest.
