First of all, I am excited to be a part STROMTROOPER.COM! A quick google search led me to this forum and I haven't been able to stop reading all of the topics and opinions. I am going to have to research Greywolf, as he sounds like he was an interesting and knowledgable staple of these boards.

Anyway, I have been researching and I am about to make my second motorcycle purchase: a V-Strom. Looks like I will be buying a new 650XT Adventure, unless I find an amazing deal on a 1000XT Adventure in the next couple of days.

My question is this: Is NOW the right time to buy? I am not in any great hurry. Usually when the new model arrives, last year's model's come down in price. The 650 is in the neighborhood of $9500 OTD, but I would hate to ride it off the lot, only to see the price drop because the 2020s have hit the showroom.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, and I am happy to be a part of this group.

After shopping all around the Central Florida area, from Ocala to Okeechobee, Tampa to Daytona, I think I am going with the 2019 650XT Touring at a hair over $9300 OTD... Lots of 2017s and 2018s, but my calculations kept pointing back to a 2019. Now, I have to start a thread to see if there are any Strom riders in the Tampa area, enjoying the on-road and off-road capabilities of the bike on the weekends... Thanks for the advice guys, it's appreciated.

First of all, welcome to the gang!

Secondly, when i bought my bike, they gave me a 3 years warranty (1 suzuki, 2 private company), now it's 5 (5 suzuki)... Had i waited a year, i would have still be covered by the warranty as we speak! But, as a wise biker once told me, bikes are not investments, whatever you will put on it will not necessarily raise the value, what you'll save in several months you will not enjoy right now.

Soo i guess my answer would be, either monday between 9 and 4, or at the end of the month if you want to try your luck with a salesman looking to fill his quota.
