Freshly purchased a new V-Strom1000xt Adventure. This bike is the most fun bike I've ever owned.
I've been dreaming of an Adventure bike for about 5 years now. My dreams began one day when I came across Steve's Alaska adventure on YouTube. I was memorized for over an hour watching Steve's adventure while staring at my 5 inch screen. I knew then that I wanted to experience a piece of this world.
I do plan on making it to Alaska in the next 5 years. In the meantime I hope to make it out on some Adventure with you guys. So I can learn what I do or don't need to make an enjoyable and comfortable journey.

Thanks for welcoming me and allowing me access to all of this knowledge and good people.

Well, make it easy. Camp out in your own back yard with what you put on the bike. If you really need something you can go get it and revise you packing list. If you don't use something, remove it from the list. Do that in the sun and rain and cold and hot and you'll be ready for the BIG ADVENTURE!
Practice setting up and taking down the tent, doing all your meal prep, your bathing out of a canteen's worth of water, etc. Let your bike lay on it's side occasionally so you'll know how to pick it up.
Doing it at home is a lot easier than learning the hard way!
