Hello to all. I am a longtime rider, and a new 2005 Vstrom 650 DL owner. My other motorcycle is a 2005 Honda ST 1300. I love to ride, and wanted to be able to get back into the woods a bit, so I bought the Vstrom. looking forward to learning a lot about this bike, mods, etc.

Welcome from Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Kansas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. (Just got home.) depending on the terrain, your skill and the tires, the Strom will get you up fire roads, and trails. Have fun with your new ride.

My vote is for the Mitas E-07 tires as an all around tire that won’t limit you off pavement or on.

You are the 2nd new Stromtrooper this week from New Hamshire. Where abouts?
Lived there for 10 years in Newport (left in 2010 for Virginia) and still have family in Grantham.
Lots of good riding there....118 up to Lincoln from Canaan...Kanc, Bear Notch, White Mountains, Vermont, Adirondacks, etc.
The Strom has excellent manners and is a great choice for the miles and miles of dirt roads throughout New England

You're a Strom ahead of me, and one model year newer in the ST1300 department. I love my 2004 but man, Candy Graceful Red is sooooooooooo purty.

Hoping that someday relatively soon (next year or two) I'll be able to add a WeeStrom to the barn to keep the ST company but I gotta either convince Mrs. Fun first, or luck into some loose cash that she can't object to my spending on a second bike. (The term for loose cash she can't object to is spelled "b-o-n-u-s"... and those only come but once a year, if then.)
