New DL1000 owner from Georgia

Hi

Just bought an '03 DL1000 with just over 30,000 miles. My first bike over 750cc!

Hope to roll the odometer on this one. Why not, I have a little head start.

Welcome!
Plenty easy to "roll the odometer" on these. But you won't get much recognition here until you pass WERA 688. His bike has 430,000 miles!

The guy who sold me the bike said as much. That's awesome!

Can you point me towards a source for the first basic mods/checks I should look into?

Welcome to the forum, DL.

I always say, ride it, it'll tell you what you need add or change. For checking; oil and tires.

Welcome! A very handy accessory for your Vee, to help keep an eye on the charging system, is an on-board digital voltage meter / LED or similar. See for possible failure, https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl1000-...-pictures.html. Not to say that it will happen, but with the voltage display accessory, you have an advance notice. You have one solid bike in the Vee. Ride safe.

I did a post a while ago about all the gotchas that you might need to know about, on older DL1000s.
