Wink New Trooper

Howdy, all. (Yes, I'm from Texas, deal with it)

Seriously, I'm excited to finally get on this forum after about 3 months of commuting to work daily (and wrenching periodically) on a 2009 V-Strom 650. That's me and my bike in the picture -- okay, no it's not, it's my kid after a trip to the swimming pool, but it's how old I feel in motorcycle experience.

I've started a blog on my moto experiences and how-to's at motoconfessions.blogspot.com - hop on over and have a look.

It *is* an interesting and unusual windscreen. It came with the bike when I bought it and I quickly swapped it out for a Moose Racing tall windscreen because the wind blasting at my head and torso drove me *nuts*. Now that it is Hot Weather Season here in SE Texas, however, the wind is totally, totally welcome and the "half-naked" windscreen is back on my bike. Gives me a full blast of nice, clean, non-turbulent air to take full advantage of my mesh jacket and my helmet's lousy vents!

I bought the bike to be my daily commuter east of Houston. But I hope to take it out to the mountains in trans-Pecos (far West) Texas and do some gravel-roading and bike-back camping out there some one of these days.
