San Fernando Valley - 2005 dl650
Hello Everyone,

I’d like to introduce myself. I’ve been riding for about 20 years. I’ve had a half dozen bikes. Never really fell in love with any of them, Suzuki c50 boulevard, fzr 650, a bunch of 125s (Honda Yamaha) were the ones I rode the most. I sold the c50 about 2 years ago and stopped riding for a while.

I started getting the itch about 6 months ago and test drive a bunch of bikes. Zero was awesome but way too pricey. Klr650 was kinda cool but I landed on a vstrom.

I’m back riding now! Just got a 2005 dl650 about two months ago. Seems to be in great shape. I love it!

I’d love to know if anyone is around the LA area for some rides. Especially on some dirt, or really any recommendation on where to go and find some dirt around here.

Welcome aboard! I live in town but don't ride dirt. The only drawback to L.A. is you have to spend time on a freeway to get there . . .

Hola. There is a dirt area up in Canyon Country Drinkwater flats and Rowher flats. Hungry valley near Gorman.
Coarse Gold Motorway off Bouquet Canyon. and the whole Mohave desert if you are game.
Mind the soft stuff.

Thanks for the warm greetings guys! Been reading a bunch of posts and I keep seeing the word farkle. I think I get it, but where did that term come from?

Welcome neighbour, I am in OC, we Can ride , but not preferably on dirt dirt.we usaually do a long on road to and around big bear arae and then going out in to the not Paved area for dirt feeling.
I have same experience with My DL 1000 but be should easier without the bags.
Ride safe/Ride long
