New to me 2008 DL1000 with 6K miles

Hello all,

Just wanted to say hi.

As my title says I purchased a 2008 DL1000. It's silver by the way,

Got it from the first owner, it's clean but it developed issues a couple days later believe it or not.

I stalled at take off a couple of times. It developed an oil leak out of the clutch rod.

I'm getting all my parts together and working on it. Put a center stand, fork brace so far.

Anyone have a good used Power Commander III for sale at a good price ?

Welcome to the forum from an ;06 DL 1000 owner. Sitting a lot is not good for cars or bikes. Those are small issues to be expected on a 10 year old bike. Fix it and have a ball.

Welcome to the Forum. Congrats on your K8 Vee. You will find most of your questions, wrt the 1st Gen Vee, have already been addressed in one form or another. Make use of the search facility, located at the top right each page plus the home screen menu bar. If you still need help, there are many knowledgeable members on this site.

welcome! Mine is an 08 as well. Silver IS the fastest color. Yeah, the bike will have issues. Some are simply poor engineering by Suzuki (clutch basket chudder) and some are simply age of your particular bike (dry seals or worn parts). Is the oil leak on the engine side of the clutch rod or the clutch slave side?

As mentioned above, many of the issues you will be discovering and the questions you'll have are on this forum already. If you can't find an answer, don't fear posting your issue/question. There are plenty of extremely smart and helpful folks here.

Enjoy the bike.

An idea for you: You don't need a PC III or any other numbered PC. You just need a PCFC (fuel controller). Does the same thing for your mixture as a PC # but without all the add-ons we have no use for and a lot cheaper. It programs using the same programs as the PC #. And you can adjust downloaded programs right on the PCFC to tweak it for your bike's setup.

It's kind of late. I bought a used PCIII for a good price. I also have a gear indicator with the ATRE. Since I adding these it's become a different bike. Very happy with the results.
