Howdy from Idaho

I might as well consider myself a total newbie as I have not ridden a motorcycle in like twenty years. I am looking at a 2012 dl650 with under 24000 miles on it and the guy is asking $3800 for it. It already has a center stand and engine guard on it. My only fear is I have a 29 inch inseam and was debating on soupys adjustable lowering links and an adjustable kick stand. I am going to be taking a motorcycle safety course in May but until then I live off a dead end street that is 4 blocks long to practice on while I'm waiting for the classes to start. Well I look forward to reading these boards and dont worry I know how to use the search function lol.

Welcome. You can put your preload all the way down so when you sit on the bike it sits lower. I did this when I got my 2014. Once I was used to it I was able to put the preload back up and no changes were necessary.

Welcome to the Forum. For some tips on riding, have a look at the sticky section plus other threads, under the heading "Riding Proficiency" on the home page. Good info for new and returning riders.

What part of Idaho are you in. I'm only 3 miles from the border in Spokane Valley.
