Good Morning! My name is Julie, I live in Camas, Washington. I'm a new rider, got my feet wet with a 2016 Honda CRF 250 that was pretty brutal to try to ride on the freeway, which is why I ended up usually taking all the backroads. Just before Christmas, we went and got my 2018 650 which I'm absolutely loving!! I didn't do the breaking in period, my guy did that for me. I wasn't endorsed at the time, and the weather in the NW is miserable during the winter. (No shaming!)
I'm an insurance agent, Mom to three grown kids and fur-mom to two dogs, Jax (a blue nose pit) Radar ( a long hair Chi) and a flame point siamese named Dummy.
I love riding, it's my new attitude adjuster. I do find it's giving me a healthy hatred of people on the road tho... He has two bikes, a 2019 Suzuki V-Strom 1000XT, and a 2014 Suzuki Boulevard M109R. We have plans to do long trips soon, and some motorcycle camping. He's done it before, but this will be my first time.
First thing - get some heated grips. The only choice whether you are after the best for the money or just the best is "Oxford." The neat thing about heated grips is they are always there waiting to be needed no matter what gloves you chose for the ride.
