Max, this is great news, I think you are going to be happy with this bike and I can say you definitely have the moto skills to make this bike work both on and off road. Your XL650 will start feeling light and nimble in a few months.

is that silver or white? I like my silver 16, it seems most accessories match really well with it, including my Givi v47 top case which is black and silver.

Sorry for the delay. It is white. At least the tank and beak is.

What's the combined weight of you and your riding partner? Where do you want to ride (roads, trails)?

For instance, if the combined weight of you and your riding partner are 400+ lbs, and then you've got another 50lbs of gear to pack, and you will be riding 100% on-road, the V-Strom might not be an ideal choice for long-distance comfort. You may want to consider something like a Honda ST 1100/1200, or a Kawasaki Concours, or even a touring bike. Just something to consider...

Then again... if you're both 5' 8" and 160lbs, ignore what I said
