Greetings and a question

Hi ya'all. Owned bikes for over 45 years and am now considering buying a used 2014 VStrom 1000 with the cast wheels. Current owner bought it second hand and bike has 7K miles on it.
Some riders told me to check to see if the ECU was updated. How can I determine if it was?
Thank you

Taking the VIN to my local dealer after purchase (I'm 2nd owner,) they gave me a print-out of recalls & service that was completed at 2 other Suzuki dealers

Suzuki will know if the recall has been done. Visit your local dealer with the VIN and they will find out.

Randy, the ECU is located under the seat below the tool holder(3 bolts and a plastic hook at the rear).
On top of the ECU is a decal with containing the ECU part number.
If the last 3 characters read J10, J11, J20, or J21 the ECU is to be replaced. If the last 3 characters read J12 or J22, the ECU does not need to be replaced.
My '14 DL1000 came with the J10, was replaced with the J12.
The last 8 characters of the VIN range for the '14 is E2100025--E2102822.
The service campaign number 2A74 for US models, 2A75 for California models.
You can call Suzuki Customer Service @ (714)-572-1490. They should be able to look up the VIN# and tell you if the campaign has been performed.
