Exclamation Better route from ATL to the Barber Museum?

Anyone know of a nice, scenic route from the ATL area to the Barber Museum outside of B'ham other than slabbin' it all the way across I20? I lived in B'ham for about a year but it always caged it back and forth, and 20 was the best way to do that. Would rather avoid it on a bike however.
Thoughts?

I have taken 20 and didn't have the time to take another route, but there are some good alabama rides on this site.

Baba's.........

You could always superslab it on I20 until you get to Cheaha, get off there and ride up to Alabama's Highest Point in the State (not very high, but still a great view), eat lunch at the Lodge, and then back down to I-20 via thru Talladigger?? The roads leading up to Cheaha Park are very nice, fast sweepers.....lots of bikes up there during bike season (which it ain't right now). Just a suggestion.......

From Marietta, Hwy 120 to Tallapoosa, then Hwy 78 into AL. Traffic will increase in Anniston so you may want to go back to I-20 or take a longer route through Mt Cheaha.

Thanks for the suggestions - very helpful. Was going to make this trip today but have been sick and wasn't up for it. Will do it soon however as I'm dying to see the museum. Thanks again for the input!

Wiggle room, near the museum.

Here's a little extra fun, exactly 1.1 miles (by crow) South of the museum.

Between Rex Lake Road and Eastern Valley Road (aka Cahaba Valley Road)
lies Bailey Road. You will find NO SNAKES on Bailey Road, because snakes
are insufficiently flexible to navigate that asphalt corkscrew!

WOW! Ride it if you like. I think you will enjoy the experience.

There are 3 roads that connect Cahaba Valley Road (we call Hiway 119) and Rex Lake Road (Rex Lake is thr road that Barbers is located off of).

#1....Grants Mill Road......closed until further notice due to a deterioated bridge at Lake Purdy. The City of B'ham is in a pissin contest with Shelby County over the repair of the bridge.
#2....Bailey Road.......small 2 lane....not more than a mile or so long, very tight, lots of woods on each side of the road.
#3....Zeigler Road.....2 lane, thru a residential area so keep your speeds slow.

Cahaba Valley Road dumps onto Hiway 280 (to Sylacauga)......and continue on it (119) and you will finally meet I-65 South to Montgomery.

Sorry to threadjack......just some tidbits of info should one be traveling in the area of BaBa's. Oh yeah, 29Dreams Motorcycle Campground is nothing but a memory......closed-down this past summer.
