Charity Ride for kids?

Hey there everyone! I didn't see this fund raising event listed anywhere else in the forums so I thought I'd put it up. Its a group charity ride for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Check out the link.

I'm not affiliated with the organization but, its a great cause. And yes, I do know its a little late notice. I thought that it might be of some interest to some of the bikers in here.

Maybe I'll see some of you there?

I'll be there. I volunteer for it every year in the Triangle and at Asheville.

Thanks for the update.

If I don't do the ride (not a big fan of group rides) I'll be sure to send a check, it's a very worthy cause.

You should at least ride down to Biltmore Square Mall on Sunday morning then to donate. Check out the bikes and grab you a cup a joe and a donut. Your donation goes to a very worthy cause.

I don't care for your typical poker run or small fundraiser ride either, but the planning that goes into the Ride 4 Kids rides make it very safe and enjoyable. You will begin to base the quality of other rides in the future on this one. It is meticulously planned out and organized. Plus the route that they take to Lake Lure rocks!

I'll be on the burgundy V if your able to come by.

Smile Asheville Ride for Kids

Alrighty. So I have solidified my plans. I will be rolling into God's high country (aka Asheville) on Thursday evening to hang out with my college friend "Greg" and catch the Led Zeppelin cover band Zoso at the Orange peel that evening.

Friday 8/28 - I plan on throwing down some miles on the bike and hitting some side roads. Might even head to Deal's Gap and back for kicks and giggles. (Local Stromtroopers are welcome to join me). Grab some dinner and kick back a few local brews and a good credit cigar that evening after the return from the gap .

Saturday 8/29 - Do some more riding. Meet up with friends and grab supper at 12 Bones or some other awesome eatin' joint.

Sunday 8/30 - Ride for Kids ride. Voyage back to Raleigh.

Man! I can't wait until next weekend!

Hope you all can come join us at the RFK Asheville ride!

I'll make it an earnest goal to leave friday open.

Saturday is a sure thing.

Smile Friday/Saturday Ride then Sunday Ride for Kids

Aaaahhh! I've sparked some interest!! Dakotasdad....are you going to ready your bike to come out and play on Friday or Saturday?

Stromin'Nroman and I are going to throw down some miles either Friday or Saturday if you want to join us. He's promised me he won't get us too lost. :-)

If we get on a dirt road and see a guy sitting on a stump picking a banjo sporting coveralls with no shirt and a shotgun leaned up against a neighboring tree, we promise to quickly turn around and haul a%# back to civilization.

(Sorry, the thought of having a day off from work fuels my active imagination. Something I am seldomly allowed to explore at work due to budget constraints). :-)

Any other takers?

I actually know more local 'Strom riders who are not on this forum. I'll give 'em a jungle.

Hey guys! Been a little busy at work lately. Fletch, its great to see that you're going to volunteer at the event!

And man! I wish I could get to Asheville earlier in the week but unfortunately duty calls. So, I won't be able to get over there until Sunday AM. I'll be making the trip in from Salisbury so I'll have to leave kinda early in the morning to make the registration cut-off.

I'll be on this when I come up. Wearing a flourescent orange Olympia patton jacket.

Hope to see you guys there!
