Big Bend TEXAS trailride/ camping

Looking for some fellow riders in Texas who want to trail ride in Big Bend/ provide info on trails. I'm 9 hours away in Austin. Also wondering if you know of some good trails to ride closer by.

I'm not nearby a ymore, but I can say from when I lived in Houston, it's definitely worth the trip out. In austin i would visit hill country, stuff around enchanted rock is ridable.

Big Bend Ntl Park and Big Bend State Park are worth the trip everytime. Head over to Two Wheeled Texans and post up there. WE have a few members that live in that area full time and ride it all the time.

Pretty much every road in the Ntl Park is passable by VSTROM when dry. Big Bend State Park is a 30 mile gravel road just to get to the entrance and some of the roads are quite rough.

Plenty of paved stuff to ride out there as well. McDonald Observatory is an awesome day time visit and night time visit when they have star partys. The Prada store in the middle of no where, The Marfa lights, Terlingua and the Star Light Theater. There's so much to see and do out there you probably won't be able to do it in on trip.

I was just out in Big Bend a few weeks ago (in my car sadly) and it was worth it. I need to get my strom out there asap!

Also, are you by any chance the other strom I passed out in Elgin a week or so ago....I was on a red dl650 with side and top cases. That was the first strom I've seen out here since we moved out of the city.

I was there last month as well and wish I could roll out there with you on your trip. Some of the best Tex Mex in the country. Chili Pepper Café is not to be missed! Amazing breakfast burritos and delicious burgers.

You might start planning now for a Fall trip. The temperatures are going to be brutal for the next 3 to 4 months. That said, take your bike to Big Bend - it really wants to go.

Later, Bud...

Your cords put you a bit west of the actual location. Closer to Starlit Theater (which is a must-go as well).

Here's what I got using google maps: 29.332483, -103.534556

It's a block up from Big Bend Resort and Adventures
53623 TX-118, Terlingua, TX 79852

Definitely recommend going it cooler weather. Summer is a killer (literally) there.

Not sure what bike you ride but if you don't take Rt 170 to Presidio/Ojinaga, you are missing some of the best black top riding in the area.

Got it, thanks. Been on my bucket list forever. Hopefully, this fall, Jack Nickelson and me, can scratch it off.

If you are coming down from Jersey, let me know. I have a full garage and room and shower if needed. I'm located in Sumter, SC. More than welcome but it will cost you some bagels and pork roll!

Also, if you guys come up with some dates get offline with me and let me know. I'd love for an excuse to go to Big Bend again!
