Long Creek Road/Tatham Gap Road from Robbinsville to Andrews--open year 'round?

Long Creek Road/Tatham Gap Road from Robbinsville to Andrews, is this road open year 'round?

I just looked on Google Maps and see that the Forest Service road splits off and twists around for a few miles then dead ends.

Might check it out tomorrow, weather pending.

please post, I've only done it a few times, I first found it agout 4 years ago on my annual trek with the guys, a group of 10-16 from new england, we go down in the early part of may, I got sick of going to deals gap, been going 9 years so far. explored all the secondary state highways within a 250 miles radius, the only thing left is the almost invisible network of gravel roads that are only infrequently used ,

I suspect if you got snow in dem mountains, it could be treacherous. there are several spots where there are constant weeps across the road, if below freezing, there would be icy stretches

Didn't make it this weekend

Didn't make it out on Saturday Like I had planned. Rode with a buddy over to Knoxville, TN to pick up a KTM bike. Went to a play with the wife on Sunday.

Hopefully weather will be nice this coming weekend. :???:
