N. Georgia group rides

I have not seen many group rides for the N. Georgia area and I'd like to change that.

I've been leading group rides for several years on several different forums. I have decent GPS route building skills. Most of my groups rides have been pavement only, but I am hoping to explore some gravel & forest service roads with others here.

Anyone interested?

No worries. I'm looking at 8/24 ( Saturday ) as the proposed date.

Does this date work for you?

I'm in. Need to meet some new people to ride with, most of my ridding friends have given it up.

No worries, I'm looking to start a monthly ride.

I'm looking to get a group or two together if we end up with some members that want to venture off the pavement and other members that want to stay on the pavement. If it turns out this way we may alternative pavement-only group rides every other month with mixed road surface group rides in between.

Personally, I would like to venture off the pavement but I'm not sure the level of rough terrain I will want to limit the bike too ( mainly due to the low ground clearance ). I've only ridden on one forest service road and the overly harsh suspension beat me up pretty good. No worries, though, I used to race supercross so I know a little bit about suspension tuning. I know how to fix the harshness, it's just a matter of allocating the funds and procuring all the bits and pieces I need. Enough about me....

I stitched together my first off-pavement route and it ended up being 300 miles through 3 states. Probably too much for a single day ride. I'll have to break it up into two or three loops as day rides.

More to come...
