Auto marking everything read gone.. Thanks!

Over the last few weeks I noticed you changed the way the system reacts to being on. It used to time us out and mark everything read after a certain length of time and now doesn't do so. Now it works like all the other boards I frequent and IMHO is much Merle useful.

Thanks!

..Tom

I requested a change after some more posts on the subject appeared. When Brendan owned the site and there wasn't as much hardware support, it was necessary to mark posts read regularly to lower the overhead. Verticalscope has more resources so the process has been changed for now at least. It remains to be seen whether or not the resources get overtaxed.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

I like it! At first I thought something was screwing up but once I realized what was going on I became very happy!

Sometimes I log on and can't read everything and come back to it I find the messages I don't read are not marked read. Much better for how I use it.

That would really tax the resources. Visit more often.
