Cager ramming bikes

I correspond with a guy in Kansas who rides motorcycles. They've had a rash of fatal motorcycle accidents along one 2 mile stretch of highway, always near overpasses. The cops were dismissing these crashes as guys riding too fast and losing control.

Then one family hired a PI to investigate. He found traces of brown car paint on the back of the crashed bike. Then he checked the wrecks of some of the other bikes that had crashed along that stretch of highway...they had traces of the exact same brown paint, which was traced to a model of Toyota truck. The posited scenario seems to be this truck rammed these bikes straight on from behind.

So now the victims' families and local bike clubs are pressuring the cops to open homicide investigations on these crashes. The additional possibility is there may be victims elsewhere that aren't even being looked into. That stretch of highway may not be this serial killer's only hunting ground. So far, this has not made the news.

I post this for two reason:
  1. To just remind everyone to be careful out there. There are crazies who hate bikers for no reason.
  2. To see if anyone else has similar stories. I'm curious if this kind of behavior is widespread.

I concluded after years of working on a survey/construction crew along CA highways that some drivers lacked common sense or were oblivious to things around them which made them dangerous. But this of course is a whole new level of dangerous. Certainly a crime that can go undetected. Scary stuff to contemplate.

Scary indeed. Inattentive drivers are dangerous enough, we don't need crazies aiming for us.

A number of years ago I had a woman cut me off splitting lanes on the 10 freeway in an old Cadillac. She rolled down the passenger side window and started screaming at me. I smiled, wished her a great day then rode around her. That is a crazy you can deal with. This on the other hand . . .

Something doesn't quite add up. Every incident would have to be a fatality, as a survivor would report being rammed.

Good point, if the driver ran the rider over to make sure, there'd be evidence of that, you'd think. It would also have to be done when there were no other witnesses.

I have just Googled it an got nothing. That surprises me as surely such a theory would be widely reported in the press.
Just saying - perhaps a backup source would be good. No offence intended jmf.

More than 2 or 3 fatalaties and I would think the police would start an investigation to see what the problem is in that area, even if no foul play was suspected.

He says all this happened in SW Wichita, KS in the vicinity of the I-235 bypass near Kellogg and West St. He says the individual crashes made the local news, but there is no story on the crashes being connected...yet.

I don't have faith that for something to be true the media and/or the police must have picked up on it. I think they both miss a lot of things. I have no reason to doubt the guy.

I did find this story, but it was last year and sounds like not in that location in Wichita. Woman was arrested for fatal hit and run on a scooter rider.

KAKE.com | Wichita, Kansas News, Weather, Sports - Woman arrested after fiery hit and run Wichita crash

About 3 or 4 years a go, a rider was killed at night, less than a mile down my road. He was almost home. He lived long enough to relate that a dark car had swerved to his side of the road and forced him into the guardrail and a road sign. Little or no investigation was evidently made without other witnesses or information. I have had 2 instances in the past 5 years, where drivers seemingly intentionally swerved into my lane to attempt to hit me or scare me. On this same road. One was an azzhat in a Audi, the other was a car load of gangbangers.
