Need for more education

I was talking in another thread about how most riders will benefit from more training. Here's an example of what can happen when lacking training. The comment section shows what other riders think about him blaming the bike.

SECoda and steve85248 like this.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

I wonder why you can't see the video. The page url is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WamBr5Ahy4

Anyway, there was a sign for a 90 degree left turn ahead with a 25mph advisory and he entered the turn at 68mph. He claimed the steering locked up and nobody is buying it.

So you know the video is visible (both the original and the reply).
As for the crash _ I think it speaks for itself.

So many guys on Mulholland Drive and Angeles Crest are guilty of over cooking corners.
I don't like Mulholland no how. Too much traffic, people live on it.
The Crest has a couple tight corners and surprises like Squid Leap. But some folks I know that do track days can keep a brisk pace without going over the side.
it's a matter of knowing the road and your abilities.

One unintended by-product of all the riders wearing cameras is the documentation of endless instances of rider hubris.

How many videos have you seen on Youtube where a rider does something really stupid, and then seems to think his helmet cam footage exonerates him? Or where he goes off on a road rage tangent about some "asshole cager almost killing him" when the helmet cam footage clearly shows that no such thing happened? It's starting to seem like a lot of riders are frustrated actors vying for a "Best Dramatic Performance" award.

The link worked fine, still just a white box on my screen in both posts.

That said, it doesn't seem likely the steering locked up, not being on the bike I can't say one way or the other, but I do have a hard time with the news coverage making a hero out of him for crashing...
