Trip to where Road Runner cartoons were shot

Flew into Grand Junction Colorado and rented a very nicely prepped DRZ 400 from Moto Discovery tours and rentals ( a First Class operation) Road it out towards Utah and ended up on the White Rim trail outside of Moab. I was blown away by the majesty of this landscape. Endless drop offs to certain death keeps one focused, but I stopped a ton to take pictures, relax , sip some water and take it all in. If anyone is considering this trip....GO!! Was on the DRZ for 4 days in total and it was my trusted horse. Great bike for this trip.

Does the sheen in the pics indicate sloppy wet surfaces? Sounds like fun...not!

On that day I had driving rain, hail, snow, lightning and sun. Changed every twenty minutes. There is a lot of overhanging rock, which provided shelter on three occasions. Was covered in thick red mud and the dual sport Shinkos were very iffy on mud. I lost my shoes as well, so only had my muddy Sidi crossfire boots and dirt bike pants to go to the restaurant in Moab for dinner. Ended up buying a used pair of shoes there, which had my family grossed out by the concept....I love my new used shoes now that I am back home.

Truly majestic and prehistoric country. It's where Earth's "inspection covers" are off and you can see how the planet was built. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets. MeepMeep‼️

When I got out of the tent on day 1 it was a field of MUD. Didn't want them in my pannier, so lashed them on top. Somehow they weren't there when I needed them. Was going Commando, so no need for underwear and with the switchbacks would have needed extra changing anyway.

Beautiful pics, sounds like it was a great trip! Too bad about the shoes, although I'm wearing a pair of used shoes I picked up over a year ago. Trick is to find "barely used" shoes!

Looks like the Dugway. Friend went there and wanted to be called "Dug" after that. He's a very tentative rider and that was major fete.
Your pics are doing justice to the landscape.
