Insurance is writing her bike off. On the tier the rear footpeg mount is welded directly to the (tube) frame. When the Tiger's fall over it can bend the tubes and that write's off the bike.

think it would have been around $2,500 Can$ to ship back though!

Sounds like that's going to work out in your favor then! Is she healing up nicely?

I was taking a ferry in Picton yesterday and was behind 3 what looked to be brand new porsches! one white one said 911 carrera? I'm not really a car guy but they sure looked nice!

Incredible trip, Tom. So glad to hear Sandy is doing well now. Glad to hear she's got a new bike all ready to go. Please give her my regards.

You did a number of things we did on our Newfoundland trip. I'd love to give you the link to that one, but photobucket wiped out all the pictures, and I haven't gotten around to repairing them yet.

Amazing that you and Sandy were doing the TransLab/Newfoundland loop in the opposite direction DM and I were planning to do it... at exactly the same time in August. You know why we didn't go, but to think we might have passed the two of you, just given a wave as we passed, then months later found out about it, might have just driven me mad.

Hope to catch up in 2019.

Thank you, V-Tom, for your fine photographs & reports of travels in Newfoundland and Labrador!

I should have told you how to deal with potholes in Newfoundland.
Look for kids selling maps.
For just a loonie, you can get one of two kinds of maps:

TYPE 1: These maps show you where the potholes are, so you can avoid them.
(Unfortunately, these maps become outdated and useless in about a week, because of new holes.)

TYPE 2: These maps are more useful, because they deal with the larger and more scenic potholes.
They are maps showing you the route to take to get OUT OF the pothole, in case you ride into one.

Happy Trails!
Keith

P.S. I thought of you while riding through Port Perry on Aug 11 (-> YOW) & Aug 12 (-> YYZ).

I just read through this post again to catch up I am leaving after work today for Newfoundland! I only have 9 full days but I plan to make the most of it! I allocated 2 days to get to and from the ferry so I have 5 days on the island. I am going to do the viking settlement and Gros Morne
