Itís Great to be Back...

Though less often than previous years, we spent time on the motorcycle exploring new territory while in the Pacific Northwest. We moved to Bend, Oregon four years ago to help with my wifeís elderly folks, who moved from independent to assistant living..... help with doctor appointments, out to dinner, off shopping with her mom... it was a wonderful decision. They had a good run... Meredithís mom passed away at 95 y.o. and six months later her dad at 96. We missed our 40 year plus friendship base in Arizona and the grandkids so we decided to move back to the Grand Canyon State.

However, this is a ride report.... and it was wonderful to get on the motorcycle and take a short day ride over to Jerome and to the top of Mingus Mtn. To have lunch at the Haunted Hamburger, see our favorite rode side attraction and their current attire.

We look forward to posting more... and hooking up with old riding buddies and meeting new ones. Enjoy the pictures.

I went to my 50th High school reunion two years ago and was the only one of the few that rode motorcycles that was still riding! Still my main means of travel by far and this site seems to have more over 55 year old riders than most. You two look like poster kids for this age group. Guess its the good genes? Maybe not as my all ways so young looking dad still looked so young and so full head of hair at 89.He rode one of my motorcycles at age 68 and after we were about to go look for him came back with a grin that looked like a six year old on his first bicycle! "If I were a young man I would get one of these," he said. Had never rode one in his life but he would have been a natural as he kick started it and never killed it like most everone does first pull out.Shifts and all were just from seeing me leave on them when I came to see him with my kid on most the time.It was my smallest of four bikes at the time a Super 90. I can feel not great and after a short ride usually am lots better.Makes me feel 55 again!
