Strom Trip underway. The Travelling Ent is loose

I've left on my strom! pretty insane to think about. I've been planning my trip for 18 months and I'm not 33 days in to it.

you can follow along with short updates here: I can't post links. Just search Travelling Ent on facebook.

Or just the blogs here: I can't post links, there's some links from facebook, if someone could reply with the links that'd be great.

I post the blogs on facebook anyway, so facebook is the central place. There's an ADV rider thread too, but its basically the same stuff. "UK to NZ - Travelling Ent" on ADVRider

My route is from UK to NZ, through Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, India, Myanmar then beyond. I'd really appreciate any help over the coming months in diagnosing and fixing my trusty Donkey (cause he's a noble steed).

I enter Turkey tomorrow on a route to Bandrima to get some new tyres. These Metzeler tourances haven't been the best. Not awful, but they only lasted 7,000 miles and weren't great in the wet.

Cheers,
Josh

P.S. sorry if this is the wrong section, feel free to move me or close me. I couldn't find anything for ride reports.

Ents speak slowly and proceed at a tree like pace.

Trip is still very much on!

Day 83 now in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. After 2 weeks in Turkey that was very weird during Ramadan I entered Georgia and met up with two other Overlanders, did some seriously rough roads up a mountain, with one little spill shattering the indicator. Then into Russia through the very dodgy south area. Across from Saratov into Kazakhstan and onto the Steppe. A very odd place to ride in, flat endless road literally for days, but Donkey's road prowess paid off, eating up the miles for many long hot days. Made it down to Almaty in south Kazakhstan for a nice break, new tyres, chain, sprocket (that I bought with me) and a few other maintenance bits. On to Bishkek for another couple of days getting over some sickness and not doing much. Then a 2 day ride with a camp by the lake in the middle, to Osh where I'm sat now.

I'm facing some rattling on the bike now I need to figure out before I enter China in 4 weeks, sounds like it's from the front cylinder and only when cold, I've started another thread but I'm not allowed to link to it with a low post count.

The facebook page has lots of pictures going back through the days and the blog has the details on all the stories if you care to check them out.

Love reading about stuff like this. Three and a half weeks with all camp but one night my longest motorcycle trip and only 10,300 miles.Met. Tourances made the trip but rear was shot on return with about 1,000 miles of gravel in the mix. Good luck.
