      Switch to a USB outlet on the handlebars, and put a 12V cig lighter socket directly on the battery, under the seat. You're not going to use the tire inflator when riding anyway, and I bet that everything you need while riding is USB-powered.
      
      This will work just nicely, but it's by no means the only source.

      To each their own, but I'm glad I have the ability to charge something under the seat, and then being able to walk away from the bike in the knowledge that it's reasonably secure as well. For about 2 dollars including shipping it was pretty much a no-brainer.
