Givi 260ST

I just received my new windshield today from twisted throttle.

Givi Windscreen (Suzuki DL1000 & DL650 V-Strom, '04-) - Givi D260ST : TwistedThrottle.com

I have not tried it out yet but expect it should be a good addition. I have been using the madstad bracket with the stock screen for the past year or so.

I will say I love the look of it on the bike the vstrom is long and tall and I always thought the stock shield looked out of place especially on the madstad bracket. The givi looks high quality and the size complements the bike I was worried initially it was going to dwarf the bike not that looks are everything but the vstrom needs all the help it can get.

Will post up my thoughts after I get a few rides in.

Pay attention to the sun warning sticker. It's no joke.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Thanks yes I had read a couple posts referring to the melted gauges.

I tried it out on a 50 mile or so loop today and I am going to have to play with it some more to find a good setting.

What's the limitation? I need something taller than stock, but didn't realize there were any limitations on some of the windscreen like that.

If you park the bike with the sun behind it, the sun's rays can be reflected off the inside of the screen, focused on and above the instruments and melt plastic parts.

Holy cow! You're kidding, I just bought one used off Craigslist with no original papers. I live in the Phoenix Az area, the heat here ALONE is almost enough to melt plastic. Now I have to worry about the orientation of my windshield, relative to the Sun?! Really? Jeez Louise!
