Go Cruise

Bought a Go Cruise from Amazon, it was delivered on Tuesday. I had a couple of out of town jobs so I got to try ou the device. What a remarkably simple, yet effective device. My first trip was 120 miles round trip riding CA99 both ways. Speed limit is mostly 70 and the Go Cruise was flawless. Just a few minor speed corrections but it really worked well. My next trip today was shorter and mainly back roads, 85 miles round trip, 55 - 65 mph limit most of the way. Again it worked just great. Tomorrow I’m heading back to the Coast about a 400 mile round trip, and it should really alleviate the fatigue I had on the last trip.
For $20 bucks it is really a fantastic device so far. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for some sort of throttle lock/cruise control device. Not sure about how long it will last, but for $20 if it lasts at least a year I’ll be happy.

I've been using one for ~5 years.. maybe more. Super simple, cheap and 100% effective. Love it.

These days just make sure it's the GoCruise 2 ....second generation and better.

The little tensioner makes all the difference.

The rubber ring is useful but not critical.

I have a Go Cruise that I use on my SV. It's the 1st gen.....without the tensioner wheel. I think it works the same way as the 2nd gen, right? Why do you recommend the 2nd gen so strongly. Mine works as advertised. It grips my grip (with the rubber ring) well and doesn't slip. I prefer the Vista Cruise...the one with the thumb lever https://www.ebay.com/itm/VISTA-MOTOR...-/391911625991 but there's no room for it because of my Barkbuster hand guards.

I prefer the Vista Cruise as well but fiddly and takes up room.
The original GC will start to slip and you cannot adjust it - Gen 2 is a better mousetrap.

Agree that GC2 is an improvement. However, my GC1 has been working without issues for me for the past 5 years, on 3 different bikes
I can see it potentially slipping on very thin grips. I never had those, so no issues. Best return on investment ever! ($15)

One of the complaints about the GC is breakage moving it from bike to bike ...unlike the GC2 which is easy to open up wide. Specially important for me with GripBuddies on.

If your GC1 slips on the grip it certainly is useless but the 1st gen GC has been on my SV for 2 years now. Because of carpal tunnel numbness in my right hand, I use it quite a bit without any slippage. One reason for that might be that I have always used the GC1 in conjunction with foam grips. Maybe that makes for a tighter grip with the increased circumference. If and when mine starts to slip I would certainly replace it with that better mousetrap.
Not worth a poll but has anyone out there using the 1st gen GC had theirs actually slip or break? GC2 is $10 more than GC1.
