On Tuesday, 25 July 2017 I received a set of Shad SH36 side cases and a mounting kit. I ordered these through a reseller – AdventureTech LLC – and specified a fitment kit for a 2008 Suzuki V-Strom DL650. When I opened the mounting kit I noticed the instructions were for a 2012 V-Strom, so I offered the bars up to the motorcycle and found that they would not fit correctly. I immediately informed AdventureTech via phone and they immediately notified Shad USA of the issue.
As of today, I have near daily records of email conversations between Shad USA, AdventureTech, and myself attempting to resolve this issue. Shad USA claims at this time that I have the correct part numbers for my motorcycle and that they should fit. I have set them photos detailing the fitment issues, and they still claim that I have the correct parts and they are “reviewing parts” with the factory in Spain.
To date, I have received absolutely nothing in the way of a solution or even a potential solution. What I do have is a pair of useless motorcycle cases, a litany of excuses, and complete failure of Shad USA to fulfill any of their many promises to get me the correct mounting kit.
Has anyone succeeded in getting Shad USA to get to work and solve a problem? Am I wasting my time with these people?!?
Of final note, Gloria and Rick at AdventureTech have been stellar in attempting to fix this as well. They've been very proactive and supportive throughout and I have no complaints at all with them.
