Lightbulb Farkle Remorse Depository

I've been seriously considering adding a second bike for more true off-road adventures; namely either the KTM 690 Enduro R or the Mighty DR 650. Budget matters, so leaning towards the DR, while still factoring the necessary mods/farkles to get the bike where I want it (suspension, seat, etc.). Ongoing easy maintenance/costs is key for me... more so than initial investment. So, I signed up over on DRRiders.com and found this very helpful thread named "Farkle Remorse Depository". Intent is to help others considering mods and maybe what to avoid (while not bashing vendors):

Farkle Remorse Depository : Mods & Farkles

Pretty helpful for me in my research stage. Maybe I missed it, but haven't seen a similar thread here. With full credit to DRRiders... Any interest here?... Post up! What did you buy and later regret? Why?

I've invested quite a bit in my long-term V2 (click on my garage), and I think my only farkle regret is the OEM stock top case. Very small and very overpriced. A bigger/better Givi would've been half that price. But hey - it's all matchy-matchy when I bought new!

What be your farkle remorse?

I went with a Givi V47 top case and the OEM side cases that came with it and they are perfect together.

My only minor regret was buying the EB H4 relay kit instead of buying the LED replacement bulbs first and possibly in place of. The LED replacement bulbs effectively solved the same problem associated with the switches slowly burning out over many miles. The much lower current draw should lengthen the switch contacts lives considerably. it was still ok to install the H4 kit as additional insurance. The LEDs may help the stator wire coating issue as well.

My only regret is the one that I haven't put on yet, and I can't imagine what it is.

I bought an 8 cell lithium battery that doesn't quite get the job done on my high compression 1000. I would sell it to a 650 rider or someone with a stock 1000 in a warm climate at a good price. I have an after market voltage regulator that I haven't installed yet. I need to get into that program over the winter.
