Hi there, does anyone has a recommendation for solid wrap around hand guards that fit well on a 2005 v Strom and are not terribly expensive.

Basic plastic handguards to block small branches and a bit of wind? I picked up a set off AliExpress a few weeks back for about $15. As I recall, it took about another $10 in bits at the hardware store to get them installed. They worked great last week going to NH and back in a bit of cold rain (about 1700 miles total).

If I were doing it again, I'd probably try this set instead:

Looks like that one includes mounting hardware. It's about the same price as the first set plus the hardware store trip, but you get to skip the step of figuring out what you need.

I went with the Suzuki ones for $93. I put "OEM type" from Amazon on a Versys 300 and the guards were fine, but the mounting hardware was not correct. I also ran into an issue with a nice rear rack from Amazon having too small hole sizes for the supplied hardware, so I am now a bit skeptical of fitment.

I've had my Acerbis (X-Factor) since early September and I love the wind protection they provide vs. OEM. They can be adjusted regardless of lever/mirror position which was not the case with the OEM's. It took a few attempts to mount correctly the solid wraparound alongside the existing hardware, but now they feel great, no lever cutting required. Around a $100 shipped.
