Sun the 19th ride to pro 2nd rally.

Gentlemen, And Ladies.

On Sunday January 19th at 12 o' the clock Noon there is to be a rally form 2nd Amendment rights at the state capitol building in Salem.

I intend to Ride to this event, I invite me Strom Trooper friends to join me for the ride and the even and some more riding.

The meet up will be in Lake Oswego just off the Boones Ferry off ramp of I-5 at 9:30-10:00 With departure around 10:30am.

This is going to be an open carry optional ride. I will be carrying a firearm in the open for the meet, the ride and the rally.

Please, if you have a political opinion about the open carry aspect of the ride that is contrary to mine don't bother to post here. I respect your right to have political views that differ from mine. If you do please start your own thread, no one is going to compel you to participate.

This Ride will be limited to the state of Oregon. If you have your Oregon CHL you can open carry a loaded firearm in all jurisdictions of the state, if you do not have the CHL you can open carry UNLOADED.

You do not need to Open Carry to participate in this ride.

I have contacted the owner and representatives of the Coffee Shop to confirm that we will be welcome in the establishment with our open carry firearms. I also have a friend on the Lake Oswego Police Department that is going to send out an E-mail to all officers that we are going to be in the area at the time and date so if an uninformed citizen calls dispatch they will have forknowledge.

I will leave my home around 8-8:15 for anyone who wants to meet in Estacada. I will arrive in Oregon City around 9am to meet another person and then will travel to the meeting place. around 10:30 we will leave to travel down I-5 to Salem and congregate at the Capitol ( Last year motorcycles were allowed to park in the cement area of the park across the street.) We will attend the Rally and then decide if we want to ride to a destination or disperse.

I encourage you to patronize the coffee vendor who supports our rights. The Coffee place is at;

I will be going as long as the weather forecast doesn't turn into bad rain, as I hate standing around in rain gear.

Now the hard part, which gun doesn't make my ass look big...

Yeah I will be carrying my 1911 ( Very Slimming ) in a Blackhawk Serpa Drop rig.

I haven't decided if
I'm going to carry an AR-15 like I did last year.

I was thinking 10/22, mix it up a bit...it's even a takedown so it fits in the side cases

Wow, I was expecting a bigger turn out. Normally we get 4-8 guys for a ride.

I guess the subject matter must be keeping some people from coming along.

Sorry Reaper, haven't been able to make the commitment yet, still out on family issues.

I'm a little concerned about the weather. Its so beautiful today that I can see Mt Hood clearly from my house. I ran to Estacada and almost put my truck in the ditch because its so icy. From Estacada out its foggy but warmer. I am not sure if I can get the bike down the hill Sunday.

I'm 1180feet and Estacada is 426feet.

You kids have fun. I'm going to use a couple of my fire arms if the birds are flying.

Should be a little warmer with the clouds Saturday night. 37 is the low in the valley, so up there I would hope it doesn't get too cold. Wondering how fast it will warm up.

WEll yesterday I could see Mt hood from my porch from the time the sun came up. I went out about 2 pm and there was still ice in the shady spots on the road within a mile of my house. And it was showing 32 degrees on my trucks temp monitor. as I came down the hill from 1180feet at my place...

And the temp raised 8 degrees and another 4 by the time I was in the soup and made it to Estacada @ 426 feet.

If I can make it down the hill all will be good.

Nice thing is... today my home temp says its 39 and there is only a little frost so I'm hoping tomorrow will be better yet. I'll get out early in the cage to check the 2 places that would be difficult on a bike with a slick road.
