Quatzville Dr....

A beautiful day to ride in Central Oregon….. Upper 60’s, with clear and sunny skies. I had heard about a road that turned off of Hwy 20 by Foster…. called Quatzville Dr., riding along portions of the Middle Santiam and through a section of the Santiam Wilderness Area…. Finely connecting with Hwy 22. That was the plan for today’s ride.
A stop for coffee and a fantastic cinnamon roll in Sisters, Oregon

This was a first… to have the mirrors, windscreen and my helmet’s face shield, become covered with condensation while riding …. All at the same time.

I enjoy covered bridges and this one was wonderfully constructed…. Built in 1945.

Quatzville Dr. eventually turned into FS Rd. 11 and then Straight Creek Rd. No traffic or vehicles at all this day.

An old concrete bridge…. There was just a tad of water through here at one time!

This is a must, to ride once again….

Thanks for pointing that route out. It's now on my must ride list!

FS 11 has been on my radar for a while but reports of Bigfoot scares me.

I did that one this summer, my mistake was heading eastbound in the morning on a sunny day, the shadows were terrible walls of black that I couldn't see into. Most times I like the sunshine but I think I would prefer this road with overcast skies. Great ride when I could see though.
