Wharton state forrest in new jersey is legal. So long as you don't mind sand.

I have ridden Wharton for years on various dual sport and enduro bikes. The Vstrom is my first adventure bike and I am tempted to do a Wharton ride. Let me know if/when you go down there.

On a related note... If you go down there, stop at the Pic-A-Lilli Inn for some great buffalo wings.

Here is a video I shot in Breandan Byrne State Forest, which is one of five state forests that make up the NJ Pinelands. You could ride dirt roads for days down there.

Yes, the NJ Pinelands includes 1.1 million acres of land. We have everything imaginable except for rocks.

Nice video. It is funny how all the roads there seem the same. the worst is when the trail turns into miles of whoops.
