Wee Strom Rentals?

Hi,
My apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I am looking into getting a Wee but would like to actually get out on one before I part with the money. No dealers near me do test rides so I'm wondering...Does anyone know of places that rent the Wee? I'm near Albany, NY but very willing to travel if I need to.
Any info much appreciated.

There are dl650 rentals here, but its quite a drive from where you are. Nice area to ride around in:

Thanks for the info.
Like you said, BMW and HD all over. Shame that's not what I've got my mind set on.
PA is actually the closest so far, so thanks for mentioning that one. The only other one I know of is in NC.
Thanks again.

At the moment my thinking is that the Wee is the bike for me. I've been looking at BMWs too, but price is a factor. I'm not a fan of buying a bike I've never ridden, especially as it will be mostly for commuting 50mi a day. It wouldn't be good to hate my bike everyday and then stop riding it. I've test ridden some BMWs, but Suzuki dealers don't seem to even do a one mile test ride up here.
The PA place recommended by cdherlils is about 5 hours away. Quite the distance, but on the other hand a perfect 24hr rental. Drive down. Ride home on some really nice roads to try the bike out on. Sleep. Ride back on some more really nice bike roads. I think that's the plan for around April/May. Until then I'll keep reading reviews and stop in at the dealer to sit on the Wee to get my fix!!!
Still open to other suggestions, so if anyone has any ideas....??

Yea most places will not allow test rides of a new bike, and maybe might.. if you are about to "pull the trigger" buy the bike, maybe ride a used one to get the feel for it. There was only one dealer in my area that was gong to allow me to "test" ride a used v-strom in their parking lot (big lot), but that was about it.

Dealers don't do test rides for the basic 1) you can/may kill your self on a unknown bike 2) You can/may wreck the bike 3) Too much liability. The inherited risk that a motorcycle carries makes them jumpy.

None the less I did my research, and brought the bike from a dealer that did not offer a demo ride, but a great deal. I never looked back and love the bike.

Keep your eyes open specially during the spring time for motorcycle shows events around your area. That is where you can get your demo rides in a controlled parking lot environment. There was one down in New Jersey at a track that had Buell, Suzuki, and Honda giving demo rides.

The advantage to the place in Lancaster is that you would not be confined to a parking lot, ruled by traffic cones. This would give you a nice ride though some twisties and long straightaways.

Have you considered finding a great deal on a used bike? Buy it, try it, maybe keep it. If not, sell it and maybe even make a few bucks.

Motorcycle Rental

I've heard that powersportseast.com‎ rents motorcycles but only what they have in stock on their used lot. I am not sure if you're even willing to drive that far, but there you go.

mcdstrom - yeah, I've been thinking lately that might be the way I end up going. Not a bad thing, just not what I was hoping to do. If some deal turns up real close to me then that would certainly make the situation easier. Besides, I keep reading how happy people are with their Wee Stroms so that is certainly confidence boosting.

ocara - thanks for that link. I have some driving I need to do in the Spring so DE could be an option for a slight detour. Thanks for the link.
